We were very pleased with the service we received recently. We took 2 cars for MOT, one was straightforward and the other wasn't! For the car needing work, we received a detailed emailed estimate for us to approve before the work began. The final invoice was also emailed. It was easy, transparent and efficient - no hidden surprises ! The guys were friendly, approachable and not intimidating as can be the case for women, out of their comfort zone in a male dominated garage. Very impressed.

We have been having trouble with our daughters car for a few months. We kept taking it back to a well known garage in Linslade and spending quite a lot of money only for the car to continue going in to limp mode or breaking down and on one occasion my daughter was told it was ‘all in her head’ .....We took it to General Mechanical Services who managed to sort it out once and for all by spending a little more time and effort. Can totally recommend this company to do a good, thorough and fair priced job.

We started to use this garage when we lived in Eaton Bray. They are friendly, the work is finished on time and the prices are very good. Even though we now live in Leighton Buzzard we still have our cars repaired here. They come out and collect the cars from Leighton which makes it nice and easy.

took my car to them as I was disappointed with service I had received else were, Very friendly & helpful and quickly put my mind at ease, everything was explained to me and shown to me, I was told by another garage I needed new brake disc and pads, which I didnt need at all. they will be getting all by business in future, made me feel like I had been going there for years, I will be recommending them to everyone

No garage around compares to GMS, both in terms of the service provided and the price! If you're worried about getting ripped off, try GMS. I've been going for 6+ years and never had an issue that wasn't solved by them.

A massive thank you for an early morning rescue! While on a day trip out far from home my car started messing around and was unable to drive any further! After just 2.5 hours I was on the road again with new spark plugs and coils; they was so very helpful to the point of looking up how many miles it should of been before the plugs should of been changed! So a massive thank you.

Friendly, honest and super helpful - General Mechanical Services are amazing. Honest friendly staff and always willing to help. They came to pick me up after my truck broke down out of working hours, fixed my truck and had it back with my the next day by midday. They also look after a family Land Rover Defender which gets used a lot and they haven't let us down. Thanks again.

Recently moved to the area and needing to find a new garage. This one is convenient as I can walk home from the garage. When calling to arrange MOT, they fitted me in that same day and was done in 2 hours. Very polite and welcoming. First ever garage I've been to that's been so efficient. I will become a regular and recommend you to others.

My 2 sons also take their motors here, this garage has fixed problems that other garages just couldnt fix. For example my sons land rover had a strange vibration coming from it his garage at the time charged over a £1000 for the repair & had it almost 2 weeks and it didnt fix the problem, Martin discovered it was a few smaller problems combined & fixed it and the charge was very reasonable. I got 2 Mitsubishi’s, 1 needed a lot of welding and the engine rebuilding, Martin did all this again at a very reasonable cost and it now runs like when I first bought it 20 years ago. I cant thank him & his Family enough for all the help over the years with our motors.

Took my car to General Mechanical Services today for an air con regas. It’s the very first time I’ve used this company and I’m really impressed. Not only did they do a brilliant job (they even checked for leaks at no extra cost, and without me even asking!) but they’re the best price for miles around. I’ve now booked them to do my two front tyres next Monday and decided they can do all MOTs, services and repairs on both my cars and my husband will bring his too. So that’s three new cars for them. Paul serviced my somewhat neglected lawnmower and sharpened my garden tools. He collected and returned and couldn’t have been more helpful. Turnaround was less than 48 hours and he was a pleasure to deal with.

I had a wonderful experience here. Everyone was very nice, friendly and willing to help. My springs at the back of my car had snapped off while I was driving and they weere the closest garage to me at the time. Although they were about to close, they were willing to help and they stayed the extra time to order me a new spring at the last minute and they fitted it for me. I definitely recommend coming here, the service is 10/10 and I am so grateful!
